Bloggers keep on learning things in blogging and pro-bloggers never close the door to learn new things and innovation in the field, such great habits and professional approach make them pro-bloggers. I have shared my mistakes with my readers few weeks back, and I mentioned all the major mistakes I did since 2007-08.
You can check that post on bloggingmatters.net, to find out what new beginners and new blogging starters should avoid. I don’t hesitate to accept my mistakes, and realization of mistakes give me a chance to identity the wrong steps and to improve them for better results and success.
See this: Why my First Blog failed after started Making Money
It’s been years now, and I turned to blogger in 2010, and closed my company and then left the job in 2012 and became a full time blogger in 2012. I noticed my one mistake in last one year, and I realized that I should fix this thing and share with the people and readers of my blog, so that they learn with my mistake and avoid that mistake.
Before moving to the mistake, I would like new bloggers to remember simple 3 steps in blogging:
Step 1: Exploring the field
Being a blogger, you should try to adopt new strategies – you need to find new innovative ways – Read the top blogs and learn the ways they are adopting. Analyze their content marketing and content creation ways. Maximize your niche knowledge and expertise, so that you provide outstanding information and tips to your readers.
Step 2: Identifying and accepting the mistakes
Don’t ever think that you are superman or something in blogging – that might block your germs to learn things from others. Pro-bloggers always observe good things and take positives from new bloggers. I love to see both juniors and seniors bloggers to observe them, praise them and learn things from them.
Step 3: Improvements and Solutions
Learning and positive observation would lead to improvements. Always be positive towards making changes and improving your business or blogging strategies.
I believe that making mistakes is not a problem, but being rigid to accept the mistakes and saying NO to improve your lacking areas are even worst.
My Biggest Blogging Mistake of 2013
Since I turned to blogger in 2010, I kept on checking and subscribing the blogs. I receive daily post updates from bundle of top blogs of the industry – Subscribing isn’t enough!
I felt few weeks back that I have not been following and reading other blogs regularly in 2013. Last year (in 2012), it was much better – my intensity of following and reading other blogs was much better as compared to this year – So I realized that I’m doing a mistake of not regularly following and reading the industry leaders and some good new bloggers.
I might have missed following things:
Variety of voices
Different point of views
Some Unique updates
Exposure of different professionals
Diverging approaches
Multiple experiences and views
I found it so satisfying that I have realized my mistake without wasting much time. I might have continued the same attitude and same busy schedules of not giving time to reading and following other blogs, if I wouldn’t have realized that mistake.
Lesson to Learn
Being a pro-blogger you have to keep on accepting things – Things that might make you more professional, things that might help you in improving your skills and professionalism.
Now I’ll be following and regularly reading top blogs for exposure and getting aware of different point of views. I remember I found a guest post of an author Sophie Lizard on a random blog, and I was reading it, and she had written a wonderful motivating line, and I never liked the whole article, but I liked her one line and I went to her blog, and subscribed to her newsletter – So things are scattered everywhere, you need to be genius to identity and get those useful things for yourself.
