Blogging is a science, I always say, because when a blogger understands the requirements of pro blogging career, he starts developing some kind of habits which actually help him in proceeding with this blogging career and make him pro blogger. There are things beyond such basics things like buying best web host for your blog, good domain name and creative content development for your blog.
You must have studied in your high school or college that professionalism and professional attitude towards your profession are very essential parts of your career, obviously they are! That’s why I thought one day to write few essential things regarding bloggers that they should adopt, to get more professional towards blogging. I certainly try to follow these things which I am going to discuss in this post.
You know why I love blogging?
The few best things about blogging are:
You don’t need a boss to work. You don’t need an office on rent to work on your blog. You don’t need to wear a tie to work on your blog. It doesn’t mean that I hate wearing a tie, or I don’t like to work in office, I have worked in office, and what was the third one? Yes, the Boss! Forget it!
The point is, blog is your own thing, you want to work hard, work harder, you want to go on a short vacation, go for it. It makes you comfortable. You can spend time in friends’ parties and marriages; you can join family on dinners.
But at the same time, you don’t have to be so careless if you are going to become a professional blogger. I am not favoring any kind of laziness towards blogging, and I am not in the support of shaky moods towards your blogs. If you take it seriously, it [blog] would respond seriously and you will see in the stats and figures.
If you follow some rules and make few simple habits that won’t hurt your any time table, eating schedules or any other thing in life and those simple habits would work exceptionally well for you, as this thing is working for me, believe me, you will get huge positivity in your blogging career and professional behavior. Its not like you will start behaving outstanding, I am more focusing on setting up few habits that will improve your working capacity and make you more useful towards your blog.
My experience with these 5 habits
I am not praising myself, believe me, I am not happy with myself. I need to work more; I should work almost 18 hours a day, but I hardly do 8 hours. I will improve hopefully. Besides this, I have few good things which I realized and noted few days back and thought to share it with my readers. Being a blogger I tried to be more professional and that’s why such habits added to my personality and became norms for me.
Here we go:
5 most important habits for a professional blogger
Reading
If a blogger develops habit of reading, he might find many useful things. If you find reading things boring, work on it, because you might have missed many useful things which you thought not to read. Make sure whenever a useful article comes to your screen, try to check whats the story and message, if you are not in the mood to read out whole article, try to read title, first 5 lines and last paragraph of the article, it will give more than 20% idea of the article.
If you love reading others stuff and especially reading out experts’ blogs, it’s a great plus for you as a blogger. You will definitely get beneficial news, information and knowledge through this habit.
If you don’t like to read different articles, It increases your chances that you miss out any outstanding tip that is written between the post, some motivational line, some kind of explanation of thing you wanted to know in the past, some kind of example you want to see or any other useful thing.
Sometimes bloggers get swing in their mood and they don’t want to write much, and they plan to read some blogs and just want to know the voice of others, that’s why they jump to few blogs and start reading their recent posted items.
There is no issue in reading others blog, as it adds more knowledge and you find out different opinions in the market, you can also see peoples comments on those articles and it gives you the idea what type of followers that blog has. A positive person takes positivity from every opportunity and he tries to maximize the utility from available resources, to try to read and absorb good things what others are saying about your space or niche.
Bookmarking
Bookmarking comes 2nd in this list. Bookmarking has always been one of my important tasks in the blogging career. I use bookmarking option in the web browser. There are two reasons, I don’t have very impressive memory, if I don’t bookmark, I won’t remember that thing, to be honest!
Secondly, I want to keep the links and resources saved in my record, that’s why I use bookmarking option in my web browser. I have around 200 bookmarks saved in my web browser.
Bookmarking is a common option and many internet users use this option. Its good if you use, because as a blogger sometimes it helps you when you need to jump to somewhere on the web instantly while checking another thing and you don’t want to lose the first one and want to check it some other time. So use the bookmark option.
It will save your many information resources and websites which you found out after hours and hours of searching on internet.
Do you take your emails and data backup? Good! Most of the people take such data backup and now cloud back up services also help bloggers and internet users to instantly upload and back up their data and use it from somewhere else when they need it. You should backup your bookmarks as well! Don’t be surprised, its possible and its very simple procedure to do. You must check bookmark options of your web browser, you will definitely find the option to take backup and restore your bookmark. Whenever you re-install your operating system, you can get your all saved bookmarks back in browser if you have taken your bookmarks backup. Bookmarks are very important part of bloggers work.
Emailing list build up
Emailing list stands at 3rd place in my list of important habits of bloggers. It is one of the most important tasks that a blogger should do. Every professional and successful blogger can’t think to proceed with his email list and his newsletter. Blogging is all about telling to others and to the people who want to hear your words and your professional expertise for their betterment. If a blogger does not want to tell informative and useful things to others then he can’t be a professional blogger. A blogger’s success is in telling useful things to the listeners and readers. When a blogger’s readers and followers increase, it shows his commitment, passion and professionalism towards his work and blog.
A friend asked me when I guided her to start a blog and take an initiative in blogging field, She asked me that why you guided me? I told that ‘bloggers always help others, its kind of common thing, a professional blogger will always help new comers and new bloggers’.
Then she got so impressed with that answer and she finally decided to start a blog and I felt so satisfied with that.
Few of the benefits of email list build up are:
- You keep followers updated.
- You get a list of followers and loyal readers of your blog.
- You can send updates of your blog to them.
- You know the number of subscribers of your newsletter or blog.
- You can send offers and deals of your affiliate packages and products.
- You can offer them other services or products if you are launching it.
I hope now it makes sense for you. If you are a blogger or you will be in the future, don’t forget to build your emailing list. Join emailing list build up services like Aweber, Mailchimp or YourMailListProvider. Such email list build up use your email address and hosting service to deliver emails but provides you the features to make announcement letters, list of receivers and subscribers, new subscription joiners, sending updates and newsletter to the whole list.
A blogger must have such things to make their blogging career successful. Email list building is one of the important things to adopt and build.
Good relations
This is not a specific technical thing for a blogger which relates to your blog appearance or web hosting of your blog, but surely you are seeing it here in the most important habits to adopt for a professional blogger, then you must think that how it can be so important.
Let me explain you about ‘Good Relations’
I can write a couple of articles on ‘Good Relations’ but I’ll try to keep things short, precise and to the point. Good behavior and good relations with your followers, readers and other people in your social circle are very important things for a blogger.
Good relations’ can’t be completed without good behaviors. If have couple of people in your network and contacts and that doesn’t mean you have good relations, if you have good contacts and your behavior is so amazing with them and it makes you admirable, then it makes perfect combination.
Why I am talking about good relations in Bloggers must-do things list?
Let me tell you!
A blogger should be a personality who inspires others. He sometimes needs to explain things, he needs confidence, he must know how to react on opposition, he must know how to handle difficult situation. He must understand anger management and temper control.
If a blogger takes care of such things then he will be able to handle relations. Relation with co-workers, competitors, service providers, facebook friends, other friends, college friends, club friends, twitter followers, blog subscribers and other many people around him.
Making good relations around is necessary for a blogger, because blogger doesn’t work for ghosts and angels, he works for people, if people don’t like him, then they will never follow him or his work! Blogger works for people not for himself. Actually I mean blogger doesn’t write interesting things for himself, he writes for readers, he guides people not himself with his own content and blog.
So get my point, make very good relations with the people around you or your social media accounts, and try to be professional, very optimistic and well-mannered with them.
Creative thinking
Creativity is not a thing that you can buy from super store; and you can’t even borrow it from someone. You don’t need to panic and don’t try to think like fashion designer or famous painters to become creative.
Relax!
Creative thinking for a blogger means you bring out some informative ideas, you point out complex things in a light manner, you explain things with so ease, you make jokes in your content and tell difficult things in a simple style, and in short you keep your readers smiling while they are reading your blog. It is an art actually; you can develop it with the passage of time.
Don’t try to focus much on this point but just take it very normal thing as a blogger. If you keep things simple and polite in blogging, it makes your impression good and professional. If you are sincere with your readers, you will definitely think positive towards them and sometimes you make them smile and you might make them happy with your work, any example or with any good joke.
Conclusion
These were the 5 habits I was thinking about and I shared with you. I try to follow all of them. I honestly tell you, I am good with bookmarking and reading and I try to work with good relations and creative thinking development in my attitude. The last thing which you think it is unchecked, let me tell you its not unchecked, I have set up Email list, you can join my email newsletter from top right of this blog.
I would love to listen from you, Share your experience of blogging, always remember, buy best web hosting service to start your wordpress blog and adopt these 5 habits to become a pro-blogger and to get success in money making blogging.

I’m glad you included the whole “building relationships” bit – that’s a process that is far too overlooked by many bloggers and webmasters. We are in an age where social media has, quite literally, become unsocial media, and bloggers have cut their communities loose – loose to the point where they don’t even stop by anymore.
Do you think any of the big guys in any industry (and this isn’t just related to the internet – we can even look at the top dogs before the internet was popular) got where they were by shutting everybody out and working entirely on their own? Generally, the answer is no. Things haven’t changed – if anything, we have to be more social now than ever.
Loved the list, keep up the great work!
